Mrs. L.K. (Eunice) Burket

Mrs. LeRoy Burkett, 87, of Akron, died Thursday, Aug. 18, 1977 at the Akron nursing home after a short illness.

Memorial services were held Monday, August 22, at the Wesley United Methodist church, with Rev. Leslie Williams officiating. Mrs. Tom Kenny was organist and accompanist for Mrs. Rodney Reoh, who sang-, two selections, "Praise to the Living God", and "O Love That Wilt Not Let Me Go". Graveside rites followed at Riverside Cemetery, Akron, conducted by Vesper Chapter of the Order of Eastern Star and under the direction of Schroeder Funeral home.

Pallbearers were Bob Hebeler, Glen Milbrodt, Robert Kerr Jr., Dean Hebeler, Gerald Johnson, and Mac Thorson.

Mrs. Burket, the former Eunice Cooley, was born Nov. 19, 1889 at Watertown, S.D. She was married in 1912 at Hawarden. They lived at Le Mars and Alton before moving to Akron in 1928. Mr. Burket, a jeweler died March 19, 1943. Mrs. Burket was a 50-year member of Vesper chapter OES, and a member of PEO, Book and Thimble, Embroidery club and Wesley United Methodist church.

Survivors include a son, LeRoy K. Burket of Paris, France; two daughters, Mrs. Francis (Mary) Gale of Akron and Mrs. David (Eunice) Duncansen, of Merced, Calif.; six grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

A son, Wilson C. Burket, of Aurora, Colorado, also preceded her in death on November 27, 1964.

Relatives attending from a distance were, Le Roy Burket, Paris, Dave and Eunice Duncanson and son, Glenn Wood, Merced, and Robert and Barbara Davis, Cedar Rapids, Iowa, son-in- law and daughter of Francis and Mary Gale.
