Gail Lilly

Gail D. Lilly, 85, of Akron, died May 4, 1998, at the Akron Care Center following a lengthy illness.

Services were held May 8 at Schroeder Funeral Home with Rev. Steve Jewett, pastor of Westfield United Church of Christ, officiating. Burial was in Riverside Cemetery. Pallbearers were Duane Lilly, Douglas Wagner, Jr., Todd; Trobaugh, Darron Brown, John Finken, and Donald Stich.

Mrs. Lilly was born Sept. 13, 1912, Westfield the daughter of Monte and Lena (Hummel), Campbell. She attended school in Westfield. She married Clark Lilly in July 1927 in Dakota City, Neb. He died in October of 1972 She was employed as a nurses aide at St. Joseph Hospital in Sioux City for 11 years. She enjoyed cooking and playing bingo.

Survivors include two daughters and their husbands, Mae Bernice and Milton Wagner of Jefferson, and Norma and Calvin Gruis of North Sioux City; a daughter-in-law, Pat Lilly of Westfield; 11 grandchildren; 26 great-grandchildren; 20 great-great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband; her parents; a son, Arnold; a grandson, Bernie Gruis; a great-grandson, Brian Gruis; two sisters, Gladys Hoffman, and Vera Eslick; and three brothers, Donald, Harold, arid Virgil Campbell.
