Herman Heeren Died Friday At Advanced Age of 85 Years

Death claimed Herman Heeren, a pioneer settler of this community, at the Sacred Heart hospital, late Friday evening, following a brief sickness. Apoplexy was the cause of his death. He had reached the advanced age of 85 years, 9 months and 13 days.

In the same year, he was united in marriage to Anna Grahlman. They farmed successfully in Grant and Johnson townships until 1906, when they retired from the farm and moved to Le Mars.

His wife preceded him In death in 1932. He had made his home with his son, G. W. Heeren, of Le Mars, for the past year.

Surviving are two sons, J. H. Heeren and G. W. Heeren, of Le Mars.

Funeral services were held on Monday afternoon at 1:30 o'clock from the residence and at two o'clock from St. John's Lutheran church with Rev. L. L. Belk officiating. Interment was made in the city cemetery with Mauer's in charge of the arrangements.

Mr. Heeren was held in high esteem in the community by a large circle of friends and neighbors who mourn his passing.
