Mrs. Arvel Lake

Mrs. Arvel Lake, 77, Akron died April 21 at an Akron hospital after a long illness.

Services were held at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, April 24 at the First Baptist Church while Rev. R.T. Ritzhaupt officiated. Burial was in the Riverside Cemetery. The casket bearers were Kenneth Small, Eldon Small, Gayland Small, Lyle F. Jacobs, Hugh Swift and Robert Tucker.

Mrs. Lake, the former Mildred Clarence, was born Oct. 22, 1896, in Duncan;, Ill. She was married July 26, 1918, in, Quincy, Ill. The couple lived in Missouri for three years before moving to Akron in 1921. She was a past president of the American Legion Auxiliary, Hoschler Post, and was active in the World War I Veterans Auxiliary.

Survivors include the widower; two sons, Wilmer of Haydenville, Mass., and Arvel of Sioux City; two daughters, Mrs. Blythe (Marjorie) McGuire of Paradise, Calif., and Mrs. Floyd (Maxine) Wicox of Akron; 13 grandchildren, and 13 great grandchildren.
