Mrs. Siefke Bohlken of Preston township died at her home on Tuesday morning of dropsy. Mrs. Bohlken had been in ill health for the past four years. She leaves a husband and twelve children to mourn her loss.

Mrs. Bohlken was one of the pioneer residents of Plymouth county, coming here with her husband in 1872. She was a native of Germany.

The funeral took place on Thursday afternoon at the house. The interment was made at the Crathorne cemetery. Rev. G. C. Rheinfrank, pastor of the German Methodist church of this city, conducted the services. A very large concourse of old neighbors and friends were present at the last sad rites.

Margarethe Bohlken born Wilms, was born Oct. 18, 1849 in Ubstert (Upschort), Ostfriesland. In 1871 she came to America, was married in 1872 to Siefke Bohlken. They went to Preston township near LeMars. In 1873 he was working for Mr. E.W. Henke. They? the church and stayed true to the Lord until death. In the past four years she suffered much, but she suffered with much patience (or calmness). One week before she died, when the end was nearing, she said I will soon be at home. Her husband and her twelve children suffered her loss, although not as those who have no hope.
