DIES FAR FROM HOME

Henry Bohlken Succumbs to Heart Trouble in Texas.

Henry Bohlken, a LeMars young man, died last Monday in Canyon City, Texas. Telegrams were received at the First National Bank and the German American Savings Bank on Monday evening from Canyon City announcing the death of young Bohlken and asking as to his relatives and the disposition of the remains. The sad news was conveyed to his father, Siefke Bohlken, who lives on High street in the west end addition.

His death was due to heart disease with which he had been troubled for some time. He went to Texas a year or so ago hoping the change of climate would benefit his health. He was engaged at work on his farm when stricken by the angel of death. The body was shipped to LeMars yesterday noon and the funeral will be held on Saturday, leaving the house at 11 o'clock. Services will be held at the Crathorne church and the interment made in the family plot in the Crathorne cemetery. The deceased was twenty-three years of age.

Died, Henry J. Bohlken, near Canyon City, Texas, on Monday, May 17, of heart failure. Henry was born April 10, 1889, in Preston township, where the family resided until the death of his mother when they moved to LeMars. Mr. Bohlken went to Texas last fall for his health and it was thought by all his friends and relatives that he was steadily improving. The news of his untimely death came as a shock to his many friends. The remains were brought to LeMars on Thursday and on Saturday were taken to the Crathorne church, where the funeral services were held. Rev. Thiel, of the German Methodist church of LeMars, conducted the services. Henry Bohlken was the son of Siefke Bohlken, of LeMars. He leaves a father, six sisters and five brothers and a host of friends to mourn his early death. The pallbearers were six of his boyhood friends Loe Gabel, Albert Coleman, Henry Molzen, Herman Frerichs, Fred Klemme and Fred Groenmeyer. The whole community extend their heartfelt sympathy to the bereaved family.
