Frank G. Rollins

Frank G. Rollins, 68, of Hawarden, Iowa and formerly of Akron, Iowa died Monday, April 28, 1997 at the Royal C. Johnson Veterans Hospital in Sioux Falls, South Dakota after a brief illness.

Services were held April 30, 1997 at Immanuel Lutheran Church, Akron, Iowa, with the Rev. William Flemr officiating. Music was "The Old Rugged Cross" sung by Corinne Langley, accompanied by Carol ; Harris on the organ. Burial was 'in Riverside Cemetery. Akron, Iowa with Military Graveside Rites by Hoschler American Legion Post #186. Schroeder Funeral Home, Akron, Iowa, was in charge of arrangements.

Casket bearers were Tony Loutsch, Jerry Barwick, Karl Oehlerking, David Foley, Kurt Haage and Joel Hofland.

Mr. Rollins was born September 23, 1928 in Merrill, Iowa, the son of Alvie and Myra (Donlin) Rollins. He was a Korean War veteran serving in the United States Army from 1951 to 1952. He married Sally Starkmann May 1, 1959 in Elk Point, South, Dakota. They were longtime Akron residents and moved to Hawarden in September of 1996. He worked for Barwick Implement of Akron, Iowa for 31 years as a John Deere mechanic until his illness.

Survivors include: his wife, Sally of Hawarden; four daughters, Corinne Langley of Le Mars, Debra and her husband David Small of Brunsville, Lisa and her husband Randy Clarey of Akron, Candy and her husband Kevin Horn of Akron; one son, Frankie Rollins of Hawarden; his mother-in-law, Marie Starkmann of Akron; 15 grandchildren, three great-grandchildren; three brothers, Lester Rollins of Le Mars, John Rollins of Akron, Paul Rollins of Sioux City; and one sister, Phyllis Collmann of lreton.

He was preceded in death by his parents; one brother, Harold; one sister, Joyce Baldwin; and one grandson, Timothy Langley.
