George F. Sweeney

Funeral services for George F. Sweeney, 59, Merrill, an electrician and lifelong resident of Plymouth County, who died Monday at a Sioux City hospital, will be at 9:30 a.m. CST Thursday at St. Joseph Catholic Church at Ellendale, near Merrill. Rev. Richard V. Sweeney of Danbury, a brother of Mr. Sweeney, will officiate at a Solemn Requiem High Mass. Burial will be In St. Joseph Cemetery. A parish wake service was at 7:30 o'clock CST Wednesday at the Larkin Funeral Home In Sioux City. Rev. E. E. Apt of Merrill officiated.

Mr. Sweeney was born Dec, 1, 1904 In Plymouth County. Mr. Sweeney was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church In Ellendale, Iowa.

Survivors Include five brothers, the Rev. Richard V. Sweeney of Danbury; Daniel J. of Sioux City; Thomas H. of Akron, Iowa; James J. and Peter Sweeney of Sioux Falls; three sisters, Sister Mary Consolata of Garner, Iowa; Miss Isadora of Danbury and Mrs. Ellen Vondrack of Hinton.
