August Hansen.
August William Hansen, 93, of Remsen died Saturday (Jan.6,1979) at an Orange City hospital after a brief illness.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Moeller funeral home. Rev. Julian Swanson will officiate. Burial will be in the Remsen city cemetery.
Friends may call Monday at the funeral home.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a daughter, Ruth; a brother George and a sister at a young age.
Mr. Hansen was born March 29, 1885 in Sioux county. He married Lucy Schumacher Oct. 12, 1910, in Remsen. He farmed in the Remsen area, retiring and moving to Remsen in 1967.
Survivors are his wife, a son, Allan of Remsen; two grandchildren, and six great-grandchildren. – Le Mars Daily Sentinel, Jan. 8, 1979, page 8.
