August H. Hansen Dies, Funeral Rites Tuesday.
Funeral services for August H. Hansen, 72, prominent farmer of the Remsen community, were held Tuesday afternoon at the St. Paul’s Evangelical Lutheran church in Remsen. Rev. Paul Wuebben conducted the service.
Mr. Hansen was born on a farm near Luzerne, Benton county, Iowa in 1880. The family moved to Remsen in 1883 and settled on a farm in Remsen township.
After his marriage to Emma Grage in 1908, they moved to a farm in Henry township where they resided 41 years.
Surviving besides the widow are three sons and one daughter—Henry, Emory and Roy, all of Remsen, and Mrs. Kenneth Sitzman of Sioux City. Also a brother, George H. Hansen, on the old home farm. – Le Mars Semi-Weekly Sentinel, March 4, 1952.
