Obituary. Mrs. August Hansen.
Mrs. August H. Hansen, 91, a Remsen native and longtime resident, died Tuesday (Jan. 28, 1975) at Remsen’s Happy Siesta retirement home. She had lived there since last August.
Mrs. Hansen, the daughter of Henry and Anna Loeck Grage, was born Oct. 29, 1883, in the Remsen area. She lived her entire life on a farm south of Remsen.
She married August Hansen in 1908. He preceded her in death in 1952.
Funeral services will be Friday at 1:30 p.m. at St. Paul Evangelical Lutheran church, with Rev. Paul Wuebben and Rev. Tom Renquist officiating. Burial will be in the Remsen city cemetery.
Friends may call at the Moeller funeral home after 3 p.m. Thursday and a prayer service will be held at 8 p.m. Thursday.
Survivors are a son, Henry Hansen, Remsen, and a daughter, Mrs. Kenneth (Anna) Sitzman, Sioux City. There are eight grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband and two sons, Emory and Roy and by a brother and a sister. – Le Mars Daily Sentinel, Jan. 29, 1975, page 12.
