ELMER OLTMANNS, 58, DIES AT HOSPITAL; RITES AT BRUNSVILLE
Elmer William Oltmanns, 58, lifetime Plymouth County resident, died Saturday at Floyd Valley hospital in Le Mars after a six week illness. He had been star route mail carrier and managed the Brunsville Legion dub.
Mr. Oltmanns was born June 3, 1909, in Preston Township, The son of the late Carl and Tena (Pageler) Oltmanns. His marriage to Berline Clark took place June 11, 1936, at Akron.
Funeral services were held Monday at 2 p.m. at St. Peter Lutheran church, Brunsville. Burial was in Craig Lutheran cemetery under direction of the Mauer Funeral Home. A prayer service was held at 8 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home. Rev. Olaf Rossing officiated at last rites.
Mr. Oltmanns was a member of St. Peter Lutheran church and he served on the Brunsville town council and was mayor of the town.
Survivors are his wife, Berline, of Brunsville; a son, Darrel of Council Bluffs and three grandchildren; five brothers, Otto, Fred and Charles of Le Mars, Henry of Ireton and Herman of Sioux City.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Mrs. Anna Peters.
