DEATH COMES TO RAYMOND CASKEY, SATURDAY, DEC. 8

Rites Held Here Monday Afternoon For Former Resident

Raymond Caskey, son of Mr. and Mrs. Charles Caskey, Sr., who reside southeast of Westfield, passed away Saturday morning, December 8, 1945, at St. Joseph's hospital in Sioux City, Iowa, after a two weeks illness of pneumonia, at the age of 23 years, 11 months and 8 days.

Raymond Button Caskey was born December 29, 1922, at Akron, Iowa. He spent most of his life in this vicinity. He attended school in Akron and also at the Ridge School in Sioux Township. He was employed at Mahoney's Garage in Sioux City at the time ho was taken ill.

Raymond was married November 21, 1945, to Lucille Foster, in Sioux City, and only seventeen days thereafter the young couple wore separated by his untimly death.

Left to mourn his departure are, his widow, Lucille; his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Chas. Caskey, Sr., of Westfield, Iowa; six brothers, Charles, Jr., of Akron, Iowa; Harley, of Westfield; Harold, of Elk Point, S. D.; Eldon (serving in the Army somewhere in France), Freeman and Darrel, both of Westfield; four sisters, Mrs. Clarence Talhott, of Elk Point; Mrs. William Harkness, of Akron; Mrs. LeVerne Peek, of Elk Point, and Miss Bernice Caskey, of Westfield, and his grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. John Caskey, of Des Moines, Iowa, and Mr. and Mrs. Jim Maxwell.

Widespread sympathy is extended the young wife, the parents and their relatives in their bereavement. Chas. Caskey, Sr., father of the deceased young man,,is at present a pneumonia patient in the Akron Hospital.

Funeral services were held at 2:30 o'clock Monday afternoon at the First Christian church in Akron conducted by Rev. C.-R. Dayton, the pastor. Hymns were sung by a male trio, comprised of Harold Peek, Marvin Klemme and H. J. Behmer, with accompaniment by Mrs. Mildred Klemme.

Acting as pallbearers were Ralph Adams, Barney Feauto, Leo Faust, Clifford Faust, Kenneth Blake and Lloyd Kamradt. Interment was in Riverside Cemetery.

Relatives in attendance at the funeral from a distance were: Mrs. John Caskey, Mr. and Mrs. Gordon Costy and daughter, Mary Bell; Mr. and Mrs. C. A. Button, Mr. and Mrs. Robert J. Fleming and Mrs. Sadie Nixson, all of Des Moines, la.; Mr. and Mrs. John Button, and son, of Vermillion, S. D.; Mrs. Kenneth Goosman, of Raymers, Minn.; Mr. and Mrs. Foster, and a number of relatives from Correctionville, Iowa.
