Mrs. Russell Clark, 79, Akron, died March 3 at the Akron Nursing home of an unexpected illness.

Services were held at 2 p.m. at the Immanuel Lutheran Church with the Rev. David Roy officiating. Burial was in the Riverside Cemetery, under the direction of the Schroeder Funeral Home. Pallbearers were Arval Jurgensen, Robert Jurgensen, Vernon Jurgensen, Elmer Jurgensen, Elmer Dimmick and Robert Tabbert.

Minnie Carolina Jurgensen was born in Union County, South Dakota, at her farm home west of Akron, October 11, 1894. Her parents were August and Ida Jurgensen. When only a few months of age, she was received into membership of Trinity Lutheran Church through infant baptism. She became a confirmed member of that church through the rite of Confirmation March 20,1910. At a wedding service in her childhood church, she was united in marriage to Mr. W. Russel Clark. The date was March 7, 1912. Following their marriage they moved on to a farm. For some over twenty years they lived on various farms in our Akron community. Around 1934 or 1935 they moved into the town of Akron. Mrs. Clark entered the Akron Nursing home early in 1969 and lived there until the time of her death.

Mrs. Clark was a person who was obviously interested in people and enjoyed their company. She lived for her family and was gladdened by their frequent visits. Whatever she did was done neatly and carefully. In April, 1926, she and her husband became members of Immanuel Lutheran Church. She continued as an active member here up until the time of her death. She was always interested in that which took place in her church.

Survivors include two daughters, Mrs. Art (Berlien) Pahl of Brunsville and Mrs. Elmer (Opal) Schmidt of Akron; two sons, Lloyd of Akron and Arnold of Spencer; four grandchildren; three great-grandchildren, and a brother, Charles Jurgenson of Akron.

Her grandson, Steven Clark, and her husband, Russel Clark, preceded her in death.
