Mrs. Lena Fromme Claimed by Death.
Mrs. Lena Fromme, 73, a resident of this county for forty-nine years, died at her home in Remsen March 12, following an illness of fifteen years of arthritis.
Lena Mohning was born on a farm near Garnavillo, Iowa, January 18, 1863, and came to Plymouth county in 1883 to live with her brother, the late Henry Mohning, on a farm in Marion township. She was married to Henry Fromme May 6, 1886, in Le Mars. They farmed in Marion and Henry townships and later lived in Remsen.
She leaves a son, William Fromme, of Henry township, and a daughter, Mrs. Henry [John] Witt of Remsen, and her brothers and sisters, Mrs. L. H. Harnack and Mrs. L. H. Schulte, Remsen; Mrs. C. Hedemann, Garnavillo; J. H. Mohning, Le Mars, and J.F. Mohning, McGregor, Iowa.
Funeral services and burial took place in Remsen. – Le Mars Semi-Weekly Sentinel, March 24, 1936, page 1.
