Leslie L. Miller, 59, died at his home Monday of a self-inflicted gunshot wound, Plymouth County Deputy Sheriff Dick Moritz said. The body was discovered by Akron Police Chief Marv Powell after relatives told him they were unable to reach Mr. Miller by phone. Moritz said Miller shot himself in the head with a 16 gauge shotgun.

Funeral services for Mr. Miller were at 2 p.m. Sept. 12 in Schroeder Funeral Home at Akron. The Rev. David Roy officiated. Burial was in Riverside Cemetery. With members of the Hoschler Legion Post acting as pallbearers.

Mr. Miller was born Feb. 10,1914, in Union County, S. D. He was engaged in farming until he entered the Army in April, 1941. He served three years in France during World War II.

Survivors include his mother, Mrs. Betty Miller of Akron; two sisters, Mrs. Melvin Hansen and Mrs. Lone Parker, both of Akron, one brother, Morris of St. Cloud, Minn..
