Raymond L. Fletcher, 62, Elk Point farmer, died Tuesday,July 13 at the Akron Hospital after a long illness. Funeral services were held at 10:30 a.m. Friday at the First Baptist Church of Akron. The Rev. David Olson officiated. Burial was in Riverside Cemetery, Akron, under direction of the Schroeder Funeral Home of Akron. Pall bearers were: Roy Dunham, Andrew Brown, Arnold Staum, Burnette Quam, Henry George and Carl Christensen. A prayer service was at 8 o'clock Thursday night at the funeral home.

Mr. Fletcher was born December 22, 1908, at Chatsworth, Iowa. He married Stella Ryan October 29,1934. He farmed in the Akron and Elk Point community all of his life and he was former member of the Lamont School Board of rural Elk Point and a 4-H leader for more than 10 years.

Survivors include the widow; a daughter, Mrs. William (Yvonne) Busker of Elk Point; two sons, Richard of Des Plaines, HI., and Roger of Sioux City; a sister, Mrs. Curt Johnson of Dell Rapids, S. D.; five brothers, Edgar and C. Roland, both of Des Plaines, and Darcy, Floyd, and Elmo, all of Akron, and five grandchildren.
