Mrs. John Daniel, 70, Merrill, Iowa, died Friday at a Sioux City hospital after a long illness.

Funeral services were held at 1 p.m. Monday at the W. Harry Christy Funeral Home in Morningside. The Rev. D. J. Garrington of the United Methodist Church at Merrill officiated. Burial was in Stanton
Township Cemetery.

Pallbearers were Clarie Allen, Lowell Baldwin, Harry Attrill, Wesley Keller, James Mitchell and Clarence Trainen.

The former Gladys Porsch, Mrs. Daniel was born July 15, 1899 at West Plains, Mo. She moved with her parents to Plymouth County, Iowa, when she was two. She attended country grade schools in Mrs. Daniel taught in country schools for two years.

She was married to John Daniel Nov.30, 1918 in Sioux City. The couple farmed near Kingsley Iowa, until 1952 when they moved to a farm near Merrill. She was a member of the Methodist Church and was chairman of several community fund drives in the Merrill area.

Survivors include the widower; two sons, Donald of Lakewood, N. J., and Russell of Merrill; a daughter, Mrs. Joe (Marjorie) Wych of Akron, Iowa; two brothers, Leslie Porsch of Kingsley, and Lloyd Porsch of Sioux, City, a sister, Mrs. Ben (Clara) Harrison of Moville, and six grandchildren.
