Mrs. Anna F. Koch, 90, of Remsen died Saturday night (March 24, 1979) at Floyd Valley hospital in Le Mars after a long illness.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at St. Paul’s Evangelical Lutheran church. Rev. Julian Swanson will officiate. Burial will be in the Remsen City cemetery under the direction of the Moeller funeral home of Remsen.
Mrs. Koch, the former Anna Klaschen, was born Feb. 3, 1889, in Eckernforde, Germany, to Mr. and Mrs. John Klaschen. She came to the United States and to the Remsen area in 1909. She married Earnest Koch on Feb. 12, 1914, in rural Remsen.
The couple farmed until 1948 when they moved to town. Mr. Koch died in 1972.
Mrs. Koch was a member of St. Paul’s Evangelical Lutheran church and the ladies aid society of the church.
Survivors are a son, Melvin, and two daughters, Charlotte M. Koch and Mrs. Alfred (Minnie) Schmitt, all of Remsen; a brother, John of Kingsley; seven grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by four brothers and a sister. – family news clipping
