Last Rites Held For Mrs. Kroeger.
Funeral services were held on Saturday afternoon for Mrs. Claus Kroeger, beloved Remsen woman, who passed away at her home last Thursday morning at the age of 74 years. Services conducted by the Rev. A. Noack, pastor of Christ Lutheran church, were held in the Kroeger home and burial was made in the Remsen cemetery. Pallbearers were John Ott, Adolph Haack, Paul Rodesch, A. Dallenbach, W. G. Sievers and Henry Falke.
Services were largely attended by old friends from various points who joined the local friends and the bereaved husband and children in their sorrow. Among those from a distance who came were Andrew Sonnichsen of Denison, Iowa; John Jepson of Quimby and Mr. and Mrs. Otto Will of Pierson, Iowa. Mrs. Kroeger had been a resident here since 1889, shortly after she came to this country from her native home in Schleswig-Holstein, Germany – family news clipping.
