EARLY SETTLER DIES AT HOME OF SON AFTER LONG ILLNESS
Clinton Strong, 71, long time resident of Akron died Friday afternoon in the home of a son, Lyle Strong, 109 Isabella Street, with whom he had lived since going to Sioux City in 1936. Death came after an extended sickness. Mr. Strong was born October 25, 1866, at shell Rock. He left there in 1881 and moved to Akron. He married Minnie May October 25, 1889, in Sioux City. Mr. Strong was a member of Grace Reformed Church and the A.O. U. W. Lodge. Surviving besides the son, Lyle, are the widow; two other sons, H.M. Strong of Long Beach, Cal., and Harold Strong of Tempe, Ariz.; three sisters, Mrs. Sarah Lyons and Mrs. Walter Bennett, both of Elk Point, and Mrs. Elizabeth Van Dusen of Los Angeles, Cal; five grandchildren and a great grandchild. Funeral services were held Monday afternoon in Christy chaplel, Sioux City.
Rev. J. Jarman, Methodist minister of Elk Point, S.D., officiating.
Interment was made in Riverside cemetery at Akron.
