Mrs. Katherine Peters, wife of John Peters, died at the home of her son, Herman Peters, in Henry township, Friday, February 3. 1899. Aged 61 years, 2 months, and 24 days. Mrs. Peters was a native of Holstein, Germany, in early days emigrated to America and for several years has been a resident of this county. She was the mother of eleven children, four of whom survive her. Besides her husband she leaves to mourn her loss Henry, Herman and Richard Peters all of whom reside in the vicinity of Remsen, and a daughter, Mrs. Henry Murfield of Davenport, Ia., The funeral occurred Sunday afternoon and the services were conducted at the Evangelical Lutheran church.
