Louise Vanden Brink, 96, of Remsen died unexpectedly Tuesday (Jan. 4, 1983), in a hospital in Primghar.
Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday in the Moeller Funeral Home in Remsen. Rev. Myron Herzberg will officiate.
Burial will be in the Remsen City Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 4 to 9 p.m. Thursday with a prayer service at 8:30 p.m. in the funeral home.
Mrs. Vanden Brink, the former Louise Kramer, was born Feb. 24, 1886, at Elgin. She graduated from Remsen High School and State Teachers College at Cedar Falls. She taught school for many years, the last few years in Orange City.
She married John Vanden Brink in November of 1920 at Remsen. He died many years ago. She was Remsen’s first librarian. She had resided at the Millie’s Rest Home in Sutherland for the last 1 ½ years.
Mrs. Vanden Brink was a member of St. Paul’s Evangelical Lutheran Church where she served as organist for many years.
