Lena, the beloved wife of Herman J. Boge, died at the hospital in Sioux City on Thursday, March 22, after having suffered the anguish and pains connected with an operation to which she had given herself. The body was brought to Remsen the next day and was laid to rest in the Remsen cemetery on Monday, March 26, after a religious service had been held by Rev. W. Vehe at St. Paul’s church, which was over-crowded with mourners and sympathizers. Lena Boge, nee Feuerbach, was born in Benton county on August 8, 1869, and at that home she gave her hand in marriage to Herman J. Boge in 1880. In 1892 the couple came to Plymouth county and located on a farm south of Remsen. During the last two years they resided in Remsen. No children were born to them.
