Obituary. Emil W. Schirmer.
Emil W. Schirmer, 73, longtime Remsen resident, died at Happy Siesta home, Remsen, Thursday after having been in failing health for some time.
He was born Dec. 30, 1894, at Elkton, S.D., and had lived in and around Remsen for many years. He was a veteran of world war 2 and the son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Carl (Tesmer) Schirmer. Mr. Schirmer was never married.
Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at the Fisch funeral home, Remsen, with Rev. Paul Wuebben officiating. Burial will be in the Remsen community cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home after 7 p.m. Friday. Military graveside rites will be conducted.
Survivors are three sisters, Mrs. Elsie Walburn and Mrs. Richard R. Brown, both of Faribault, Minn., and Mrs. Arthur Navarro, Aurora, Ill., and two brother, Edward, Sanborn, and Otto, Elkton.
