Life’s End. GEORGE J. TANGEMAN EXPIRES AT HOSPITAL – RITES WEDNESDAY
George Jacob Tangeman, 83, 226 7th St. SE, retired auto mechanic, died Sunday at Sacred Heart hospital after a year’s illness. He had been hospitalized less than a day.
Funeral series will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at St. John United church. Rev. M. L. Straube will officiate. Burial will be in the Remsen cemetery under direction of Mauer’s funeral home.
Mr. Tangeman was born June 4 , 1877, at Luzerne, Iowa, the son of George and Mary Hedeman Tangeman. He moved to the Remsen vicinity as a child with his parents and came to Le Mars in 1903. A longtime auto mechanic here, he had retired.
His marriage to Louise Mary Karl took place May 5, 1915, in Le Mars.
Surviving are his wife; a son, Milton, of Le Mars; two daughters, Mrs. Dean (Alice) Miller of St. Joseph, Mo., and Mrs. Kenneth (Mary Louise) Mouw of Hawarden, and four grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, four brothers and a sister. – Le Mars Daily Sentinel, Jan. 9, 1961, page 1.
