Milt Tangeman found dead.
Milton H. Tangeman, 67, lifelong Le Mars resident, died unexpectedly in his sleep Sunday (Feb. 10, 1985) at his home.
Dr. Daryl Doorenbos, Plymouth County medical examiner, said death was due to natural causes during sleep about 11 p.m. Tangeman’s 68th birthday would have been Monday.
Near neighbors Mr. and Mrs. Terry Frerichs of 321 Plymouth St. NW noticed Tangeman’s outdoor light was on Sunday afternoon and it was still on at 8 a.m. Monday. Mrs. Frerichs said she and her husband became concerned because Tangeman always left his light on over night and turned it off in the morning.
After Mr. Frerichs knocked on the door Monday noon and no one answered, he notified police.
Funeral will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at St. James Catholic Church in Le Mars with Rev. George McFadden officiating. Burial will be in Remsen City Cemetery under direction of the Juedtke-Feuerstein Funeral Home where friends may call after 3 p.m. Wednesday. A prayer service will be at 7:30 p.m.
Mr. Tangeman was born Feb. 11, 1917, in Le Mars to George and Louise Karl Tangeman. He graduated from Le Mars High School and worked during World War II at Lockheed Aircraft in California.
