Obituaries--Cerelle Buss

Cerelle Buss, 89, of LeMars, died unexpectedly Sunday, Nov. 15, at Floyd Valley Hospital in LeMars.

The former Cerelle Ruth Darville was born Dec. 8, 1908, on the family farm near Brookings, S.D., the daughter of Charles and Laura (Muffett) Darville. She married Harvey D. Buss on Aug. 22, 1928, near Yankton, S. D. The couple farmed north of LeMars for many years, retiring in 1967. During their retirement, they enjoyed many winter vacations in Scottsdale and Cave Creek, Ariz. Mr. Buss died Nov. 11, 1997.

She was a member of the First United Methodist Church in LeMars.

Survivors include a son, Stanley Buss of LeMars; and many nieces and nephews.

She was also preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, Oscar and John Darville; five sisters, Dorothy McArthur, Margaret Gunderson, Helen McArthur, Edith Kromrey, and Ethel Burris; and an infant son.

Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at the First United Methodist Church in LeMars with the Rev. Lynn Potter officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Cemetery in LeMars. Visitation will be after 2 p.m. Tuesday at the Mauer-Johnson Funeral Home in LeMars, with the family present to greet friends from 7 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.

Pallbearers will be Harold Buss, Dusty Clay, Richard Hawkins, Lloyd Buss, David Hawkins and Clifford Perry.
