Woodhouse Rites Held in HudsonFuneral services were held on Wednesday, September 18, at the First Congregational Church in Hudson for W. E. Woodhouse, 73. Mr. Woodhouse died September 16 at the Hawarden, Iowa Hospital, where he had been hospitalized for one week.
Pallbearers were Oscar Larson, Curtis Vipond, Alphonse Strubbe, Albert Muller, Rolfe Cole, Jr. and Charles Smith. Honorary pallbearers were Art Sundstrom, Henry Muller, Charles Fowles, Noble Hagen, Lyle Marshall and Winfield Johnson. Interment was at the Eden Cemetery at Hudson.
Walter Elmer Woodhouse was born June 18, 1901 to Emma and George Woodhouse in Vernon County, Wisconsin. On December 19, 1925 he was united in marriage with Helen Becker at Seney, Iowa.
Mr. and Mrs. Woodhouse moved to the Hudson area in 1932 where they farmed until 1966. After retiring they moved to Hudson to make their home.
Mr. Woodhouse was a board member of the Lincoln County Agricultural and Stabilization board for several years.
He is survived by his wife, Helen of Hudson; two sons, Wayne of Waukesha, Wisconsin and Dick of Ames, Iowa; one daughter, Mrs. Robert W. Hansen of Sioux Falls; nine grandchildren; one sister, Mrs. Lana Tetzlaff of Watertown, S. D.
He was preceded in death by his parents and five brothers.
