From the LeMars Sentinel, September 12, 1911:

Howard Clarence Tullis, the three year old son of Mr. and Mrs. Will Tullis, died quite suddenly at their home near Colome, South Dakota, last Monday morning, Sept. 4th, of bowel poison. The body was shipped to the home of the grandparents here Tuesday evening, Sept. 5th. The funeral was held in the local Methodist church yesterday afternoon and the little body was laid to rest in the Merrill cemetery. Howard was born August 9, 1908, and died Sept. 4, 1911.
