Obituaries--Lilla Mae Marine

Lilla M. Marine, 67, Sioux City, died Sunday (Aug. 25, 1991) at a Sioux City hospital after a long illness.

Funeral will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Trimble United Methodist Church with Rev. Gary DeGeest officiating. Burial will be in Graceland Park Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 3-9 p.m. Tuesday with the family present from 7-9 p.m. at Meyer Brothers Colonial Chapel.

The former Lilla M. Tullis was born April 4, 1924, in Merrill. She married George R. Marine Aug. 14, 1961, in Luverne, Minn. He died Dec. 2, 1985, in Sioux City.

A lifelong Sioux City resident, she was manager of the Sunshine Cafe counter at the West Eighth Store for 25 years, retiring in 1986.

Mrs. Marine was a member of Trimble United Methodist Church.

Survivors are a son, Dan Nelson and wife, Linda, Sioux City; a daughter, Merri Jo Sturtevant, Sioux City; two stepsons and wives, Verne and Janice Marine of Sioux City and George and Mary Marine of Limerick, Maine; a daughter-in-law, Christine Nelson of North Sioux City; a brother, Lloyd Tullis of Hinton; a sister, Mona Lund of LeMars; ten grandchildren; and a great-grandchild.

She was also preceded in death by her parents; a son, Jim Nelson; two brothers, Frank and Wilbur; and two sisters, Hazel and Pearl.
