Obituary--Donald M. LundDonald M. Lund, 72, of LeMars, Plymouth County native and lifelong resident, died unexpectedly Monday, September 25, 1989 at his residence.
Funeral will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at St. John's American Lutheran Church in LeMars with Rev. David Kramer officiating. Burial will be in LeMars Memorial Cemetery. visitation will be after 2 p.m. Wednesday with a prayer service at 7 p.m. at Mauer-Johnson Funeral Home in LeMars.
Mr. Lund was born Jan. 11, 1917, rural Remsen, the son of Sam and Christina (Juhl) Lund. He married Mona Tullis June 14, 1950, at Sioux City.
He farmed until 1980 and moved into LeMars in 1981.
Mr. Lund was a member of St. John's American Lutheran Church. He served in the Army Air Corps during World War II.
Survivors are his wife, Mona; a daughter, Mrs. Richard (Rebecca) Butler of Michigan, City, Ind.; a son, William of St. Paul, Minn.; a grandson, Christopher Butler of Michigan City, and three stepgrandsons, Richard Butler Jr., and John Butler, both of Michigan City, and Pfc Robert Butler with the Army in Wahiawa, Hawaii.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Verna Miller.
