Life's End
WILLIAM VAN BUSKIRK--RETIRED CRAIG FARMER RITES SET THURSDAY

William Archie Van Buskirk, 71, retired Plymouth county farmer, died unexpectedly Sunday at his farm home 4 miles west of Craig in Preston township after several months of ailing health.

Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at St. John American Lutheran church at Craig. Rev. Donald Schmidt will officiate. Burial will be in the church cemetery under the direction of Mauer's funeral home.

Mr. Van Buskirk was born Jan. 12, 1887, Calhoun county, Iowa. He was a lifelong resident of the farm near Craig, having moved there with his parents at the age of eight weeks. He was a member of St. John American Lutheran church, Craig.

His marriage to Anna Westergard took place at Hawarden. She survives as do four daughters and three sons, Mrs. Hazel Newman of Hawarden, Helen Frances Van Buskirk of Lucerne Valley, Calif., William L. of rural LeMars, Mrs. Keith (Charlotte) Mitchell of Akron, Mrs. Clarence (Shirley) Bockelman of Hawarden, Roland of Aurora, Ill., and Lloyd of Hudson, S. D.

Also surviving are 21 grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; two brothers, J. L. Van Buskirk of Sioux City and Seward Van Buskirk of Ireton, and one sister, Mrs. A. J. Gamble of Sioux City.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Frank and Lottie Negus Van Buskirk; two sons; three brothers, and a sister.
