Life's End
MRS. MARTHA COOK OF SENEY DEAD; LEAVES 33 DESCENDANTSMrs. Martha Jane Cook, 91, lifelong Plymouth county resident, died Sunday at the Plymouth county home after almost a year's illness. She had been a lifelong resident of the Seney vicinity.
Martha Jane Reeves was born Sept. 30, 1873, on a farm near Seney, the daugther of Arthur Reeves and Elizabeth Mercer Reeves.
Her marriage to William Cook took place Dec. 28, 1892, at Seney. Her husband died in 1929. She also was preceded in death by her parents, two sisters and two brothers.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday at the Seney Methodist church, with Rev. Milo Morris of LeMars officiating. Burial will be in the Seney cemetery under direction of the Mauer funeral home.
Survivors are three daughters, Mrs. Bert (Esther) Criswell and Mrs. Alfred (Erla) (sic--Virla) DeRaad, both of LeMars, and Mrs. Jay (Ethel) Donlin, Merrill; a son Jack, of LeMars; eight grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren and a great-great-grandchild.
Also surviving is a sister, Mrs. Robert Chambers, Watertown, S. D., and a brother, C. W. Reeves, Sioux City.
A prayer service will be held at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday at the Mauer funeral home.
Mrs. Cook was a lifelong member of the Seney Methodist church.
