Obituary--Calvin Eyres

Calvin Hugh Eyres, 86, LeMars, died Thursday (Aug. 7, 1980), at Colonial Manor, Kingsley, after an illness of several years. He had been at the Kingsley home the last seven weeks.

Mr. Eyres, a lifelong Plymouth county resident and prominent retired farmer, was born Jan. 29, 1894, in Union township to Thomas and Christina Watson Eyres.

He was a member of the Presbyterian church and a veteran of world war 1. He was a member of the American legion.

His marriage to Minerva Datzauer (sic-Dotzauer) took place Aug. 12, 1920, in Union township. She died in March, 1963.

His marriage to Mary Faye Burrill Dempster took place Jan. 29, 1967, in Union township.

He was also preceded in death by his parents and three brothers, Phillip, Dr. Thomas and Roderick Eyres.

Funeral services will be Monday at 10:30 a.m. at the Mauer funeral chapel in LeMars. Rev. James Ransom will officiate and burial will be in the Kingsley cemetery under direction of the Mauer funeral home.

Survivors are his wife, Mary Faye, LeMars; a daughter, Mrs. William (Darlene) Stover, Davidstown, Pa.; six grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. Also surviving are three step-children, Lowell Dempster and Darrel Dempster, LeMars, and Mrs. Glenn (Thelma) Reeves of Kingsley; 13 step-grandchildren and 24 step-great-grandchildren; four sisters, Mrs. Ed (Agnes) Held, Minneapolis; Mrs. Helen Wilson, Harriet Eyres and Ethel Eyres all of Washington, D. C.
