FUNERAL HELD MONDAY FOR H. L. BRITTON
Funeral services were held Monday afternoon at the Cobb-Warner Funeral chapel for Harrison L. Britton who died Friday at his home on East Ninth following a long illness.
The Rev. F. W. Ortmeyer was the officiating minister. Music was furnished by the Four Nubbins.
Interment was made in Riverside cemetery. Casket bearers were Jim Anderson, Reed Anderson, John Schmidt, George Hamilton, Verne Morrow and Elmer Oxley.
Harrison Lester Britton, son of Lyman and Mary Britton, was born Jan. 28, 1864, at Fayettville (sic--Fayetteville), N. Y. At the time of his death he was 84 years and 3 months (and 2 days) of age.
The family came to Iowa in 1875 and in Jan., 1890, he was married to Annie G. Eade at LeMars where they lived for a number of years. They came to Spencer in 1896. Mrs. Britton died in 1904 and in 1907 he was married to Nellie G. Green at Seney.
He is survived by his wife; two daughters, Mrs. J. W. Green of Kansas City, Mo., and Mrs. George Schmidt of Spencer; and by one son, Harry G. Britton of Valparaiso, Ind. There are also four grandchildren and two step sons. The latter are Wesley Green of Kansas City, Mo., and Lara (sic--Lora) Green of Portland, Ore.
(Note--Harry is buried beside his first wife, Annie Eade, in Spencer.)
