ESTEEMED AKRON WOMAN CALLED BY DEATH SATURDAY

Last Rites Are Held Tuesday Afternoon For Miss Lillian G. Kjose

Coming as a grievous shock to family and friends was the death of Miss Lillian Kjose at the home of her mother Mrs. E. Kjose, in this city, Saturday evening, November 1, 1939, at 9:20 o’clock, from a heart ailment. About three weeks ago she was operated upon for appendicitis at the Akron Hospital and had made a satisfactory recovery and was able to return to her home. She attained the age of 38 years, 7 months and 13 days.

Lillian Grace Kjose daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Ed Kjose, was born march 20, 1901, west of Akron, in Union county, S. D., where she grew to young womanhood. In March, 1928, she moved with her parents to Akron, which has since remained the family home. During the past several years she had been employed as a clerk in local stores and by her pleasant and accommodating ways has gained a host of friends, by whom she will be genuinely missed and mourned.

When a child, Miss Kjose was baptized and confirmed in the Brule Creek Lutheran church in Union county, S. D.

She is survived by her mother, Mrs. E. Kjose; one brother, Clarence, and two sisters, Mrs. Grace Satter and Mrs. Edna Anderson, all of Akron and vicinity. They have the sympathy of the entire community in their sad and sudden bereavement. Her father preceded her in death December 22, 1934.

Following a brief service at the home, funeral services were held in Immanuel Lutheran church Tuesday afternoon at 2:30 o’clock, conducted by Rev. E. G. Svenson, the pastor. Miss Myrtle Kjose and Mrs. Amos Kjose sang both at the home and the church, and the Immanuel Lutheran choir of which the deceased had been a member, sang “Whispering Hope,” her favorite hymn, and “Going Down the Valley.’

The pallbearers, cousins of the departed, were Amos, Gilbert, Martin, Oscar Alfred and Julius Kjose. Honorary flower bearers were intimate friends, Miss Gladys Johnson, Miss Mae Johnson, Mrs. Mary Brownmiller and Mr. and Mrs. Jack Beeking. Interment was in Riverside cemetery.
