Roy A. Jebsen, 92, of Le Mars, died Friday, Oct. 17, 2003, at Plymouth Manor Care Center in Le Mars.
Roy A. Jebsen was born March 11, 1911, in Hinton, the son of John D. and Anna (Riediger) Jebsen. He farmed near Hinton for many years. He retired from farming and moved to Le Mars in 1979.

He married Bernice M. Juhl on Oct. 2, 1935, in Marcus. She died Oct. 6, 1990, in Le Mars. On Sept 3, 1994, he married Phyllis (Tyler) Hansen in Le Mars. She died Feb. 19, 2002.

Roy was a member of Calvary Lutheran Church in Leeds for several years. He had been a member of Grace Lutheran Church in Le Mars since 1979.

Roy enjoyed fishing and gardening.

Survivors include four daughters, Shirley Plendl of Le Mars, Sally Barkley and her husband, John, of Sioux City, Sue Kroll and her husband, Gary, of Sioux City, and Sylvia Hansen and her husband, Tom, of Hinton; 16 grandchildren; 45 great-grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren.

He was also preceded in death by a sister, Louise Warner; two brothers, Lawrence and Frank Jebsen; a great-granddaughter, Amanda Pedersen; and a son-in-law, John Plendl.

Funeral services were at 10:30 a.m. today (Monday) at Grace Lutheran Church in Le Mars with the Rev. Larry Fett officiating. Burial was in Graceland Park Cemetery in Sioux City.

Visitation was Sunday from 2 to 8 p.m. at the Meyer Brothers Colonial Chapel in Sioux City, with the family present from 6 to 8 p.m. and a prayer service at 7:30 p.m.

Pallbearers were Mike Barkley, Maurice Barkley, Marshall Barkley, Alan pedersen, Jason Jackson and Monte Jahsen.
