Life’s End.

MRS. STELLA LUKEN, 76,
DIES AT HOSPITAL;
PLAN RITES TUESDAY.

Funeral services for Mrs. Stella Marie (Joseph) Luken, 76, of 25 Second Ave. SW will be held at 9 a.m. Tuesday at St. James Catholic church. Burial will be in Calvary cemetry. Rev. L. J. LaVelle will officiate.

Rosary will be recited at 8 p.m. Monday at Luken Funeral Home.

Mrs. Luken died at Sacred Heart hospital late Saturday night after an illness of 4 1/2 months. She had been at the hospital the last month. Casket bearers will be Darrell and Art Luken, Joe Kemp, Lawrence Muth, Clarence Muth and Vincent Muth.

Stella Muth, daughter of John Muth and Elmira Willey, was born Feb. 22, 1888, in Plymouth county and was a lifelong resident.

Her marriage to Joseph Luken took place Jan. 20, 1909, at Hawarden. The couple farmed six miles west of LeMars until 21 years ago, when they retired and moved to LeMars.

Survivors are her husband, Joseph; a son, Merlin, of LeMars; three brothers, John, Thomas and Walter Muth, all of Hawarden; one sister, Mrs. Ruth Wilson of Des Moines, and two grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by a daughter, Mrs. Gertrude (Henry) Rogge of LeMars, four brothers and a sister.

She was a member of St. James Ladies Aid and St. James church.
