Life’s End.
Mrs. Elizabeth Luken
Dead At Age 81;
Rites Set Saturday.

Funeral services for Mrs. Elizabeth Luken, 81, 513 Fourth St. SE, will be held at 9:30 a.m. Saturday at St. Joseph Catholic church, LeMars, with Rt. Rev. Msgr. J. D. Fisch officiating.

Burial will be in Calvary cemetery under direction of the Wiltgen-Luedtke funeral home.

Christian Mothers rosary will be recited Friday at 3 p.m. and the parish rosary will be recited Friday at 8 p.m. at the funeral home. Friends may call at the Wiltgen-Luedtke funeral home after 1 p.m. Friday.

Mrs. Luken died at her home Nov. 11, after an illness of one week.

Elizabeth Becker was born Sept. 9, 1883, at Remsen. Her marriage to Henry Luken took place Jan. 19, 1904, at Remsen. The couple farmed in Preston township until 1919, when they moved to Marion township. They retired in 1951, moving to LeMars. Mr. Luken died in 1952.

Survivors are one son, Arthur Luken of LeMars; four daughters, Mrs. Albert (Mabel) Kommes, LeMars; Mrs. J. A. (Oliva) Kemp, LeMars; Mrs. Ted (Julia) Nilles, Remsen; Eleanore Luken, LeMars; 22 grandchildren, and 20 great-grandchildren.

Also surviving are three sisters, Mrs. Susan Smid and Mrs. Ed Dubel, both of LeMars, and Mrs. Frances Simpson, Sarasota, Fla.; two brothers, Nick Becker, Seattle and John Becker, Miami.

She was preceded in death by her husband and one grandson.
