John Bourke, 77, Native of Ireland
Services Are Held.

Funeral services for John (Jack) Bourke, 77, who died unexpectedly Thursday, July 3, 1958, at his home at 121 6th Ave. SE, were at 9 a.m. Monday at St. Joseph Catholic church.

Rt. Rev. Msgr. J. D. Fisch officiated. Burial was in Calvary cemetery under direction of the Wiltgen-Luedtke funeral home.

Mr. Bourke was born May 8, 1881, in County Mayo, Ireland. He came to this community with his parents, Michael and Ann Bourke, as a boy.

He farmed in Stanton township until 1951, when he retired and moved to LeMars. His marriage to Lenamaybelle Mathey took place June 5, 1951, at Maryhill, Iowa.

Mr. Bourke was a member of the Knights of Columbus and the Holy Name Society.

Survivors include his wife; five sisters, Misses Margaret and Delia Bourke and Mrs. Mike (Ann) Connor, all of LeMars, Miss Mary Bourke and Mrs. Catherine Kunkel, both of Sioux City. He was preceded in death by a brother, Patrick.

Mrs. Mathey and John Bourke Wed Tuesday.

John Bourke, of Stanton township and Mrs. John Mathey of LeMars were married Tuesday morning at the Church of the Visitation at Maryhill in Cherokee county and left immediately on an extended wedding trip through the East. The Rev. Fr. Bernard Kocher officiated at the ceremony.
