Peter C. Sheeren Taken By Death

Resident In County For Sixty Years

Death claimed Peter C. Sheeren, 89, well known retired farmer and resident of Plymouth county for sixty years, who died unexpectedly at the home of his son, John Sheeren, 434 Third Avenue SW, December 11.

Mr. Sheeren was born. November 15, 1852, in County Donegal, Ireland, and was a son of Mr. and Mrs. Dennis Sheeren. He came with relatives to this country when a lad of thirteen.

They settled in Bureau county, Illinois, where he worked at various occupations and farmed. He came to Le Mars in 1881 and settled on a farm in Lincoln township and later lived on a farm a mile west of Le Mars. He retired many years ago and made his home in Le Mars since.

He is survived by his sons, John and James, of this city and a daughter, Mrs. Matt Losch, of Tacoma, Wash., and thirteen grandchildren. His wife, who was Nora Hannon, to whom he was married in 1887, died in 1904, and a daughter, Mr. J. T. Merritt, died in 1932.

The funeral was held Monday morning at St. James church, Rev. Father L. J. Cooper officiating, and interment made in St. James cemetery under direction of Wiltgen's funeral home.

Mr. Sheeren was a good citizen and accommodating neighbor and was highly respected by all in the community.
