Many Eyes Moist At Funeral Of Joan Willing, Drowning Victim
The funeral of Joan Ruth. Willging, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Ed Willging, was held at 10 o'clock Sunday forenoon at the St. James Catholic church, Rev. I. J. Cooper officiating. Wiltgen's were in charge of arrangements.
Pallbcarers were Stanley Start, Wm. Fisch, Robert Kelley, Richard Hirsch, Robert Merritt; and Nicholas Coad.
The home and church were banked with flowers, spontaneous tributes of sympathy and sorrow from many who did not even know the little girl by sight, but who realized just what her untimely loss meant to her family.
Joan Ruth Willging was 7 years, 2 months and 13 days old at the time of her death. She was born in Le Mars April 11. 1930. Her sunny disposition and affectionate nature doubly endeared her to her family and friends.. One of her childish hobbies was a tiny flower garden which she planted this spring. On the day she died she picked her first two blossoms and put them in a vase in the house.
