Edward W. Willging Died Tuesday Night After Short Illness

Services For Well Known Businessman Saturday Morning

Edward W. Willging, LeMars jeweler, died Tuesday, September 3, in Sacred Heart hospital, following a brief illness. He was taken to the hospital a few days earlier after a hemorrhage from stomach ulcers and given a blood transfusion. He appeared to be making satisfactory recovery but passed away shortly after a second attack.

Mr. Willging was born January 29, 1894, in Osceola, Iowa, the son of Edward C. and Anna Willging. He served with the armed forces in World War I and on September 2, 1918, was married to Elizabeth James at Colfax, Iowa. He came to LeMars twenty-two years ago and he and his father have since conducted a jewelry business here.

Mr. Willging is survived by his wife, two daughter, Mary Jean, at home, and Mrs. H. C. Royer of Rochester, N. Y., and his father, E. C. Willging. He was preceded in death by one daughter, Joan, his mother and a brother who lived in California.

Mr. Willging was a member of the Holy Name Society, St. James Catholic church the American Legion, the Elks and Lions clubs.

Funeral services will be held at 9 a. m. Saturday at St. James church with Rev. L. J. Lavelle officiating and burial will be in St. James cemetery.

The body will be at the Wiltgen Funeral Home until the hour of the service.
