Well Known Citizen and Athlete Succumbs To a Lingering Illness.Death claimed Victor Weber, 61, popular and well known resident of LeMars at his home, 208 First Avenue NE, Sunday afternoon, after a lingering illness. His condition had been critical for several weeks.
Coming to Remsen forty-three years ago from Luxemburg, Europe, Mr. Weber soon gained acquaintances and friends and was widely known in Plymouth and adjoining counties. His personality and good fellowship were natural assets, coupled with good sense and a broad view of life.

Returning to LeMars, he worked for the late Mike Auer for nine years and later re-engaged in the blacksmith business.
For the past eleven years, he conducted bowling alleys in the armory building.
Mr. Weber was a fine workman and while working for others was faithful and conscientious.
He was a supporter of all kinds of athletic sports, and an enthusiast in bowling. He was champion in the singles in the national bowling tournament at St. Paul in 1914, and won many medals in bowling tournaments held in various cities.
Mr. Weber was married to Miss Anna Wilhelmi in 1903. She survives him with seven children, Olga and Katherine, of LeMars; Dick, of Spencer; Clarence, Herbert, Mary Ann and Lois, of LeMars. Two brothers and a sister reside at the old home in Luxemburg.
