ENGELDINGER—At the City hotel in this city during the night of Tuesday, March 15, 1892, of apoplexy, Nicholas Engeldinger, aged about 50 years.

Mr. Engeldinger, who was the proprietor of the City hotel, was about town as usual on Tuesday. In the evening he ate and drank heartily, and about ten o’clock retired to his room complaining of a headache. Mrs. Engeldinger also went to the room and retired for the night, while Nick laid down across the foot of the bed.

Mrs. Engeldinger did not awake until after four o’clock in the morning, when she found the body still lying on the foot of the bed, cold in death.

Dr. Richey was sent for but there was no life to save. A young man rooming in the housse, went to bed at about eleven o’clock heard what he supposed was Mr. Engeldinger snoring. The doctor thinks that it was at or about that time Mr. Engeldinger died.

The funeral took place at the St. Joseph’s cemetery this morning.
