Richard F. Kaschmitter
Richard F. Kaschmitter, 78 died Saturday (March 20, 1982) at the Longhouse Residents home in Spencer.
The former Le Mars resident had lived at Longhouse since last May. He died following a lengthy illness.
Funeral services we're held at 10:30 am Monday at St. Joseph's Catholic church in Le Mars Rev Francis Staber officiated. Burial was in Calvary cemetery.
Mr. Kaschmitter was born at Alton to Joseph and Anna (Schier) Kaschmitter on April 3, 1903. He moved to Le Mars in 1940 and was employed by Iowa Public Service Co. He retired in 1968.
He married Mildred Gerst Feb. 8, 1926 at Alton.
Kaschmitter is survived by four sons, Fred of White Bear Lake, Minn., Richard C. of Richardson, Tex., Michael of Spencer and Larry of Sioux City, eight daughters, Mrs. Robert (Arlene) Simmons of Lincoln, Neb., Mrs. William (Isabelle) Langel of Remsen, Mrs. Jack (Marilyn) Leseman of St. Paul, Minn., Mrs. Charles (Evelyn) Black of Cherokee, Mrs. Gene (Bonnie) DeBoe of Hastings, Minn., Mrs. Richard (Susan) Strouse of Huxley, Mrs. Lowell (Carol) Day of Baton Rouge, La., and Mrs. Leo (Jolene) Buxton, Eden, Prairie, Minn. 49 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren, a brother Henry of Sheldon and sister, Mrs. August (Cloulda) Albert of Algona.
He was preceded in death by his wife, two grandchildren and several brothers and sisters.
