Death of Fred Coddington

Fred Coddington died at his home in Geneva, Nebraska, on Thursday morning this week, after an illness of three or four weeks, the immediate cause of death being an affliction of the heart from which he had suffered as of late. The remains were brought to Le Mars on Thursday knight, and the funeral was held St. Joseph church on Friday morning, Rev. Father Rolfes St. Catherine's church, Oyens, conducting the ceremony.

Deceased was born at Ormsby, Lincolnshire, England, and came to America about eighteen years ago having made his home in Le Mars for more than thirteen years.
He was united in marriage in September 1887 with Miss Katie Wilmes who survives him. Three chlldren were born to them, two having passed away.

Deceased had a large acquaintance In the county who will be pained to learn of his death. Wm. CoddIngton of this city is the only family relative here.

Mrs. John P. Thoma, a sister of Mrs. Coddington came here to attend the funeral.

Death of Fred Coddington

The sad Intelligence of the death of Fred Coddington reached Le Mars Thursday morning. Mr. Coddington had been quite ill for sometime at his home in Geneva, Neb., and his illness was of such a nature that his life had been despaired of several days ago.

Mr. Coddington was well known to all LeMars people having come here from England in the early 80's when the English settled here so numerously.

In 1887 he was united in marriage to Miss Kate Willmes and until about a year ago was a resident of Le Mars. He was about 38 years of age and was highly respected by all who knew him.

The funeral occurred this morning at the St. Joseph Catholic church, Rev. Baumlier officiating and the remains were interred In the Catholic cemetery.

The bereaved relatives have the sympathy of the entire community.
