Recurrent Hand of Death Falls
Three Sisters Die Within the Space of a Few Short Weeks

For the third time within the space of a few weeks death has taken three sisters from one family.

Mrs. John F. Puetz, of Merrill vicinity, died at the Sacred Heart Hospital Monday night. Mrs T. J. Hoffmann, Ellendale, a sister died on December 12, and another sister, Mrs. Henry Kemp, of Remsen, passed away on December 18.

Mrs. Puetz died following an operation for an internal malady after an illness of one week.

Mrs. Puetz what is a lifelong resident of Plymouth county. Her maiden name was Margaret Elizabeth Hoss. She was born on a farm in Merrill vicinity, July 18, 1890, and grew up there and attended the rural schools. With her mother, Mrs. Margaret Hoss, she came to Le Mars in 1914. She was united in marriage, November 16, 1919, with John F. Puetz and they made their home on the Hoss farm west of Merrill until her death.

Mrs. Puetz is survived by her husband and four small children, Eugene, Maxine, Yvonne and Harriett, the youngest being five years of age and the eldest ten years. She also leaves to mourn her death her mother, Mrs. Margaret Hoss, of Le Mars, three brothers, Emil Hoss, of Alberdeen, S. D., B. F. Hoss, of Le Mars, John Hoss, of Merrill, and one sister, Mrs. R. J. Tentinger, of Le Mars.

Prominent In Community

Mrs. Puetz was a devout member of the Catholic church and a regular attendant at St. Joseph church, of Ellendale, a member of the Altar society and the Ladies' Aid and an ardent worker in the community and social affairs for betterment.

Her sudden death comes as a great shock to her relatives and the friends among whom she lived her life.

The last rites were held Thursday morning in St. Joseph church at Ellendale. Solemn requiem high mass was celebrated by Rev. Father T. J. McKenna, pastor of the church, assisted by Rev. A. J. Forester, of Rock Valley, and Rev. F. Schules, of Le Mars. The interment was made in St. Joseph cemetery in Le Mars where members of her family lie buried.
