Funeral for John J. Gerdes, 48, long time Le Mars area farmer, will be at 2 pm Wednesday at St. John's American Lutheran Church Le Mars.

Rev. Tom Lee will officiate and burial will be in Le Mars Memorial Cemetery under direction of the Mauer-Johnson Funeral Home in Le Mars where a prayer service will be held at 7 30 pm Tuesday.

Mr. Gerdes died Sunday Sept 30, 1984 at Trinity Regional Hospital Fort Dodge, after a two week hospitalization.

He was born April 9 1896 at Akron to Ben and Johanna Gerdes. He married Clara Peters Nov 2, 1921 at Brunsville. She died Aug 20, 1979. He was a member of St. John's American Lutheran Church.

Survivors are a daughter, Mrs. Leroy (Lillian) Mesner, Primghar and a sister Mrs. William (Angie) Westergaard Le Mars. He was also preceded in death by his parents, three brothers and a sister.
